A Milk Powder dryer plant and Whey dryer plant for South Island Dairy Products Ltd (South Canterbury) as well as the Waitoa Milk Powder factory and Te Rapa cheese and butter plants for Anchor Products Ltd.

The milk powder dryer plants we have worked on are amongst the largest in the world. They employ highly specialised ventilation systems (controlled entirely by the plant's central process computer), and use huge centrifugal fans to deliver up to 140 cubic metres/sec of air and remove 1400 kW of heat from the buildings.

Systems are also designed to maintain a nominated positive air pressure within the processing hall as part of the strict hygiene requirements.

At the Transfield Shipbuilding Facility (Whangarei), Economech installed a heating and ventilation system, supplying 30 cubic metres/sec of air, in the Painting/Grit Blasting building used to hold ship superstructures. Economech was also responsible for the installation of a bulk oxygen storage system, incorporating pipework systems which reticulated oxygen, natural gas, and compressed air throughout the facility.

Economech designed and built the air-conditioning system at Fernz Corporation’s pharmaceutical division manufacturing plant at Manurewa. This was a particularly specialised project, requiring a precise temperature and humidity-controlled "clean-room" environment. We have also completed projects for Fernz Corporation’s plant at Otahuhu.
